IWM was set up in 1974 by Barry O’Donovan who spent his first year in business serving his clients, which included Jacob’s Biscuits, from his garage in Cabinteely. Barry didn’t last long in the garage and the steady growth of the company meant that IWM moved into a premises in Grange Mill on the Newcastle Road in Lucan in 1975.
Over the decades IWM continued its growth and added clients such as AIBP Group, Glanbia, Lakeland Dairies, Schering Plough, Astellas and Waterford Crystal among others to its portfolio.
The emergence of legionella awareness in water systems over the last 15 years led to IWM expanding its offers to the market. Today it provides Risk Assessment, Cleaning and Disinfection, Water Sampling and Secondary Disinfection,Temperature monitoring, Shower head cleaning and disinfection and TMV Maintenance services to over 300 companies in Ireland.
These water management services are provided across a number of sectors including Hospitals and Healthcare Facilities, Universities, Colleges, Schools, County and City Councils, Housing Associations, Banks, Hotels, Industrial Sites, Utility companies and Facilities Management companies.
This spread of customers has given IWM considerable experience in dealing with a wide range of different equipment, environments, personnel and requirements, enabling them to build up their reputation for providing a high quality service and outstanding value for money.
By 2009, IWM had once again outgrown its facilities and relocated to its current residence in Baldonnell Business Park. Today IWM occupies the unique position of being the only company in Ireland that provides a complete in-house water treatment service.
